The Latin: gastrodia elata Gastrodine (also called gastrodin) is an extract from the tuber of gastrodia elata blume, an east-Asian orchid. It's been used in traditional Chinese medicine for at least 1,900 years. Vascular dementia is mental impairment caused by one or more small strokes that close off small blood vessels in the brain. It can be caused by a single stroke or by a series of small strokes. Symptoms range from true dementia to far less severe impairments in mental and motor function.
